What an opportunity! I have been called to serve my Lord, Jesus Christ, in the beautiful city of São Paulo, Brazil! This is so exciting! I cannot wait to begin my training for this service!
These past few months of preparation have been hectic! I got my mission call on October 2, 2014. I was so surprised by my assignment and even more I was terribly anxious to leave as soon as I could! Unfortunately, I had four long months of preparation ahead of me, and man, would I need it! So many things have to be done before I can leave for my mission!
This preparation includes expanding my wardrobe to include mission appropriate clothing, getting vaccinations, applying for a passport, and most stressful of all, applying for a Visa.
The application process for the Visa alone is stressful! The application called for notarized forms, my passport, several pictures, and documentation of my religious training! However, I've completed the entire application process, and all I need to do now is wait for the application to be approved. That was a huge relief to me and my family.
These last few weeks are passing by slowly! I'm thankful for each day though! Each day I am able to prepare a little bit more and that alone is something to be thankful for!
